Overview

Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management, Catering and Nutrition (IHM), Chandigarh, was established in 1990 in a Government Sarai Building provided by Union Territory Administration, Chandigarh. Affiliated to NCHMCT (National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology), the institute offers Bachelor of Science programme in Hospitality Hotel Administration. It is situated amidst lush green surroundings of the Le Courbusier City in Chandigarh.

The institute campus is situated amidst lush green surroundings of the Le Courbusier City in Chandigarh, facilitating well-equipped classrooms, hi-tech technology and kitchens equipped with modern facilities. The institute boasts a fully computerized library featuring 1,300 books on hospitality related subjects authored by national and foreign Authors, 100 videocassettes and slides which are used as training aids. It subscribes to various national and international journals, magazines and newspapers.

Admission

Admission Criteria: Minimum requirement for admission is a pass certificate in the final examination of 10+2 system or its equivalent. Those appearing in 10+2 final or equivalent examination can also appear in JEE for being considered on provisional basis. Total Seats: 206 Reservation: 15 percent reservation for Schedule Castes,7.5 percent Reservation for Schedule Tribes, 3 percent reservation for physically handicapped candidates The annual fee (tuition + others, excluding hostel charges) varies from Rs. 78,000 to Rs. 82,000.

Achievement

IHM Chandigarh has been ranked among the top ten hotel management institutes in India by the EducationWorld C-fore Survey 2013.

Accommodation

Accommodation facility is offered for 102 boys and 102 girls. Besides warm and congenial environment, the hostels offer separate dining halls, guest rooms, hygienic food, and separate wardens for boys and girls.
