Overview

IHMCTAN, Bhubaneswar was established in the year 1973 to provide education and training in the area of hospitality management. Sponsored jointly by the Government of India and Government of Orissa, the institute is headed by a Board of Governors comprising eminent personalities from the government and industry. This institute is affiliated with the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), New Delhi. IHMCTAN Bhubaneswar boasts a successful placement track record; the students are placed in reputed star hotels.

Campus

The institute provides best in class facility to its students including an advance training kitchen equipped with ultra modern kitchen gadgets and equipments for 3rd year students, quantity food kitchen for second year students, basic training kitchen equipped with ultra modern kitchen for third year students, bakery labs, confectionery labs, larder kitchens, training restaurants, and a mock bar equipped with various bar equipment. There are two housekeeping labs - one for learning housekeeping procedures and other for preparation of area cleaning activities, theme decorations, and stain removal demonstrations. The institute hosts well equipped and functional laundry that not only acts a training lab but is also used for washing restaurant linen, a computer lab with LAN network, and a Front Office Laboratory. The library is stocked with over 5000 professional books. It subscribes to a large number of international and national journals in addition to newspaper, magazine and trade magazines.

Admission

Fees: 1st Term: Rs. 44,250 To be paid at the admission centre HOSTEL FEE PER ANNUM (FOR BOARDERS ONLY) For Boys: Rs. 28,500 per annum For Girls: Rs. 32,000 per annum The institutional fee and hostel fee can be paid either in cash or bank draft made in favour of “Institute Of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, Bhubaneswar”, payable at Bhubaneswar. Uniform Fee: For Boys: Rs. 4500.00 For Girls: Rs.2400/- (for Saree ) + Rs.3300/- (for Uniform) = Rs. 5700.00 Rs.1500.00 (approx) will be required for journals, kitchen kits. Payment for uniform, kitchen kits, and books can be made in Cash to the respective agencies. Rs. 2000/- for student activities fee.

Accommodation

The institute offers a boys hostel with 108 seats and a ladies hostel with 55 seats. Private accommodation is also available at nominal charges very close to the institute.
