The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition (IHMCTAN), Goa was first established as a "Food Craft Institute" and later upgraded as a full fledged Institute of Hotel Management under the auspices of the Government of India, Ministry of Tourism. Affiliated with the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Noida, it is one of the top institutions in India for those interested in pursuing a career in the hospitality industry.
The IHMCTAN Goa campus spreads across 3.7 acres with a built up area of 2.5 acres. The campus hosts well-equipped two basic training kitchens, one advanced training kitchen, one quality food kitchen, bakery, confectionery, 250 pax training restaurant, 60 seater computer lab, 150 seater library and stack room, house-keeping department and an audio visual room. Other facilities include front office lab, 8 well equipped class rooms, students and staff dining hall and cafeteria and administration office.
IHMCTAN Goa offers following courses: 1. Bachelor of Science program in Hospitality and Hotel Administration - It is a 3 year full time course. 2. Craftsmanship course in Food Production and Patisserie - It is a 1.5 year full time course. 3. Craftsmanship course in Food and Beverage Service - It is a full time 24 week course (inclusive of 4 weeks industrial training).
