IMS Noida hosts international conference on emerging ICT

Institute of Management Studies (IMS), Noida recently organised a two-day international conference on Information and Communication Technologies. The theme of the conference, held in the institute campus was emerging information and communication technologies for improving people’s standard of living. The guests for the first day of the international conference were deputy director Nasscom, Anirban Mandal,  Wipro Global marketing head Ankush Minocha, vice president of Dassault systems Chandan Chowdhary and deputy general manager SAIL Pritam Shah. The fifth international conference organised by the institute, commenced with lighting the lamp by the guests of honour. 
On the occasion, Mandal said, “Today, business can’t be imagined without technology. To be successful, you must be up to date knowing about the latest technology along with ongoing market trends and latest researches.” He further added, “Bookish knowledge alone isn’t sufficient for the millennial generation. It is more than significant to be updated with the technical knowledge and advancements simultaneously.” 

Chowdhary said that technology has a crucial role to play in the development of our country’s economy. Referring to the Digital India he also said that we start painting an imaginary picture before we actually start doing the work. It not only saves time but money. Today, such cars are available in the markets that don’t even need the actual drivers. All this has been possible because of the emerging information and communication technology giving wings to the imaginations of the common man. 

During the programme, the executive director of IMS Dr. Kamaljeet Singh talked about the Smart City. “Smart cities in our country are being conceived today whereas these already exist in the developed nations. The concept of Smart City cannot be imagined without Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and the Internet of Things (IOT). Smart City is completely based on the same,” he quoted. 

Dr. Anand, dean Dr D.J. Pati alongwith the teachers and the students were present during the two-day conference organised by the institution. The event turned out to be a great success under the leadership of  Dr. Manju Gupta, School of IT head.
