Overview

India First Foundation School (IFFS), Raigad is a co-educational residential school affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). It is spread over 20 acres in the hill station of Karjat, at a distance of 90 kilometres from Mumbai and Pune. Founded in July 2009, IFFS was promoted by the Bhanushali family with a mission “To emerge as a role model in holistic, value based and exploratory learning campus in the world.” IFFS’s philosophy is “To go beyond conventional education and develop students into well rounded individuals.”

Campus

Each classroom is digitally well-equipped with 2D/3D displays and models. The 20-acre campus boasts round the clock security service and houses state-of-the-art science, math, language and computer labs. A well-stocked digital library, tennis, badminton and basketball courts, football and cricket tracks, a spacious amphitheatre with a seating capacity of 500 students, are other notable facility offerings at IFFS.

Academics

IFFS offers education to students from standard I to X with proposed affiliation with ICSE, New Delhi. It boasts a teacher-student ratio of 1:2.5 and a unique teaching curriculum – ‘STAR’ (S—synthesis, T—thinking, A—analysis and R—reasoning) – for grades I to IV, which is centred on thematic teaching. From grade V to grade VIII, the students are exposed to participative learning, role plays and interactive classes. At grades IX and X, the students are prepared for the ICSE board examination.

Extracurriculars: IFFS encourages co-curricular and extracurricular activities to ensure learning beyond the classroom. Artists from various cultural zones are invited to the school and students are given opportunity to interact with them. The school also facilitates indoor sports like badminton, squash, table tennis, carom and chess, besides outdoor sports such as cricket, football, lawn tennis, basketball and athletics.

Admission

IFFS admits students from standard I to IX. The admission enquiry form available on the school website needs to be filled in and submitted, following which candidates are invited for a counselling session. The admission kit can be obtained by paying a non-refundable fee of Rs 1000. The completed application form needs to be submitted with all the necessary documents and proof of payment of registration fee. On receiving the confirmation of the admission, students are required to pay the enrolment fee. Fees: The annual composite school fee, including boarding fee is Rs. 3,75,000.
