A discussion on not considering additional sections in schools as unauthorised went amicably with the education minister, the Associated Management of Private Schools Association in Karnataka said.
In a meeting that lasted hours, representatives of various private schools associations met the minister for school education and literacy, Madhu Bangarappa on Friday to discuss multiple challenges they faced.
It maybe recollected that in June, over 600 schools were declared as unauthorised for having additional number of sections than permission sought for. Private school associations had called this an unreasonable condition.
“We spoke about the extra sections per grade of students. The minister acknowledged our view of calling in unscientific and has agreed to this amicably,” said D Shashi Kumar, general secretary, KAMS.
On August 9, the department of public instuction issued a reminder to the deputy directors of public instruction to act on th unauthorised schools within August 16 and submit a report on the same.
Deputy directors were also said that the identified schools must be shut failing which the onus will be on them for allowing unauthorised schools to function.
