Overview

Kendriya Vidyalaya, at No. 1 GCF in Jabalpur, was founded in 1966 on a 13.5 acre plot by the Kendriya Vidyalaya regional office at Jabalpur. The present building was inaugurated in 1966 and the extension building was added in 1977.

The school is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education and prepares the students for the CBSE board examinations at the end of class X and XII. It also produces talented sportspersons in a wide variety of sports.

Campus

The school boasts a beautiful campus with abundant greenery; there are two play grounds and a separate playground for games like cricket, football, basketball and badminton.

The school offers airy classrooms, a furnished first aid room, and 4 computer labs with 25 computers and 2 LCD projectors. The school also hosts a well stocked library with a good collection of books in various subjects, newspapers and magazines.

The Conference Hall is equipped with AC, LCD Projector and a sound system. There are modern laboratories for physics, chemistry and biology.

A music room allows students to learn music without distraction.

Academics

The school is affiliated to the CBSE and offers classes from pre-primary to class XII. The school is completely wi-fi-enabled, and uses computers and the internet to help the students learn effectively.

The system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) is followed, in order to eliminate the stress during the final examinations and align the evaluation system with holistic education it aims to impart.

Extracurricular:

Students are offered sports such as skating, lawn tennis, handball, athletics, cricket, football, basketball and badminton.

They participate in drama, singing, music, dancing, quizzes and debates. They also join the NCC, Scouts and Guides.

Admission

An advertisement is issued by the Regional Office in the local newspapers in the first week of February providing the admission schedule.

Admission test is not conducted for classes I to VIII. Admission is granted on priority category system.

For admission to Class IX, an admission test is conducted, and a merit list prepared for each category of priority separately.
