Promoted in 1986, Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV), Kanjikode, Palakkad is a co-educational English medium day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and functions under the purview of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), an autonomous government body.
KV caters to the educational needs of children of the employees of central government offices, Defense personnel, ex-servicemen and other employees liable for frequent transfers.
The 8.6 acre KV Kanjikode campus hosts a multipurpose hall for organising special programmes and conducting various activities, home theatre for primary section, children’s park, and a basketball court.
The well-stocked school library features a collection of over 12000 books and 51 periodicals. The library also features educational and general multimedia, and is well equipped with five latest multimedia computers with internet access.
Affiliated with CBSE, the school offers education from class I through XII with Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) as the pattern of assessment. The teaching methodology of the school integrates technology tools to aid the traditional method of classroom learning along with supported activities such as seminars, conferences, guest lectures, exhibitions etc.

Eligible age for admission
A child must be 5 years old as on March 31 of the academic year in which admission is sought for Class I. (Child born on April 1 should also be considered.)
There is no age restriction for admission to Class XI provided the student is seeking admission in the year of passing class X examination.
Reservations in admission
A. SCHEDULED CASTE AND SCHEDULED TRIBE CATEGORY
15 percent seats for Scheduled Caste and 7.5 percent seats for Scheduled Tribes shall be reserved in all fresh admissions in all Kendriya Vidyalayas.
B. PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED CATEGORY
3 percent of total available seats for fresh admissions will be horizontally reserved for Differently Abled-children as per the provisions of RTE Act, 2009.
Admission for class X and XII
Admissions to class X & XII, other than KV students, will be entertained subject to availability of vacancies. Such admissions to class X and XII will be considered by the Deputy Commissioner of the Region concerned, only if, the average strength in class X/XII is below 40.

Class IX & X (Boys) – Rs. 200/-pm
Class XI & XII Commerce & Humanities (Boys) – Rs. 300/-pm
Class XI & XII Science (Boys) – Rs. 400/-pm
Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kanjikode is deemed as a Smart School owing to the technology integration in classroom learning.
Being a day school, it does not offer accommodation.
