A 22-year-old female student pursuing a degree in humanities passed away during treatment in Kota, just two days after her suicide attempt, as reported by the police on Wednesday.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Ishwar Singh stated that the woman, identified as Sajni Saini and a resident of Parvati Colony in the Railway Colony Police Station area, succumbed to her injuries at Kota’s MBS Hospital on Tuesday night.
Following a post-mortem on Wednesday morning, the police returned the woman’s body to her family members and registered a case of unnatural death under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
According to the police, Saini had reportedly attempted suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in her room on Sunday evening. Her family members discovered her in time and rushed her to the hospital, where she received treatment for two days.
The ASI mentioned that Saini’s family stated she had been distressed about her studies and had been communicating very little with them. No suicide note was found in her room, and the exact reason behind her suicide is yet to be determined.
