Legacy School, Bangalore

“We provide a progressive international education in a diverse learner-centred community. Our children are encouraged to develop the knowledge, skills, values and dispositions that will enable them to evolve into successful leaders who will create and sustain meaningful change in society.”  – Priti Sait, Co-founder and Managing Trustee, Legacy School

Legacy School, Bangalore (LSB) is a boutique school co-founded by Priti Sait and her son, Saad Sait, over ten years ago. It has quickly gained the reputation of being a progressive, diverse school that closely involves its stakeholders to provide a unique learning and teaching experience. Notably, it is one of few schools to offer the Cambridge Pathway Programme (Cambridge Assessment International Education/CAIE) from primary through high school (K-12), as well as the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), a two-year highly-regarded curriculum for students aged 16-19.

Ranked Karnataka’s and Bangalore’s #1 international co-ed day school in the EducationWorld India School Rankings 2018-19, LSB constantly innovates and creates relevance and context to raise the quality and equity of its education system. The school is home to over 700 students mentored by over 110 professionally qualified and continuously-trained teachers who employ blended tools of personalised education to transform the learning experience of every child. School projects and programmes are tailored to the needs, interests and aptitudes of every child, while also aligning with developmental learning goals and international benchmarks.

LSB’s urban yet green campus is well-appointed with smart and safe learning spaces that encompass hybrid-classrooms, science, math, art, language and computer laboratories, performing studios, conference spaces, and libraries. The Legacy-Apple ecosystem, enabled with over 40 learning pods, provides a robust and secure platform where technology is used effectively to design and deliver collaborative learning experiences. The school also boasts a well-rounded co-curricular programme (see Quick Facts). LSB was the first school to integrate the Cambridge Global Perspectives Programme from Montessori to class XII. Through this and other initiatives, students are encouraged to work with NGOs and government organisations to execute service-learning projects mapped with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

LSB’s focus on inquiry, application and collaboration-based teaching-learning has led to excellent results in the school-leaving exams of Cambridge International and IB, as well as internationally recognised benchmarking tests such as the IBT, PSAT, and SAT. In addition, LSB learners regularly win laurels in Olympiads, spelling bees, performing and visual art conclaves, and technology competitions. The school’s ‘Futures’ program, which provides a unique four-year long university and career preparation program for high school students, resulted in 50 percent of its A-level graduates being welcomed into US, European and Indian universities with scholarships. LSB’s model of education practice provides deep knowledge and understanding and scaffolds learning to suit each learner from Montessori to class XII.
