The rate of success in Nepal’s final secondary school exams saw an unwelcome dip on June 11 with 41.57 per cent students passing the tests as compared to 47.76 percent last year.
The results of the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) Examinations were published by Nepal’s Education Ministry, according to which out of the total 547,165 students who appeared in the exams, 167,935 have passed the exams.
A total of 16,924 students have passed with distinction. 76,165 secured first division marks, 69,830 secured second division and the rest 5,016 passed with third division.”We are not satisfied what the results this year. We will form a study panel soon on how to improve the quality of education and pass percentage,” education secretary Som Lal Subedi said after publishing the result.
