May 28, 2020

The University Grants Commission (UGC), has already recommended that academic sessions for freshers and already enrolled students may begin in September and August respectively. There are a plethora of smartphone and tablet apps available to aid students and parents in preparing for the college application and the journey thereafter. Here are some great apps to help you stay informed, organised and up-to-date for college admissions.

Cambly:

Cambly is the world’s leading app for on-demand access to English tutors over video chat. It focuses on English language, and gives the opportunity to practise your skills by interacting directly with native language tutors through a conversational video chat. Since all the tutors on Cambly are native English speakers there’s no judgement and learning happens in a bias free and prejudice-free environment.

bSafe:

bSafe is the most advanced and reliable personal safety app especially created for students coming to study to metro cities. It allows to create your own security network, take care of each other by receiving SOS alarms when your loved ones are in trouble and view friends’ locations on the map, stream and automatically record emergency video and much more.

GoCheck India:

The app lets you search for Indian colleges and their courses and apply for admission through a one-click application form. Browse through program syllabus, the college fees, get college admission updates, entrance exam alert, college jobs, photos, review and ratings to decide on the right colleges in India and their course to apply for. It also helps find the top colleges in India and their courses for admission, classified by diploma courses, certificate courses, undergraduate courses, dual degree courses, integrated courses, postgraduate courses, doctorate courses, fellowship courses, vocational courses and competitive exam.

The Find:

The Find has the ability to search through over 500,000 stores for products, allowing its users to shop all of them in one place. With this app you can save items, create a shopping list, and even tell the application to notify you when your wish list item goes on sale. There is also a bar code scanning feature that allows you to do a price comparison so you know you’re getting the best deal.

Ridlr:

Ridlr tells you exactly when the next bus, train or metro rail will arrive so you can plan your journey with ease, even using multiple modes of transport. It gives real time information on bus, metro and train timings, with cancellations, delays and alternative suggestions for transport. Timetables can be downloaded and used without an internet connection to view them later.
