Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, sited amidst the lush green Bethany Hills at Nalanchira, Thiruvananthapuram was founded in 1973 by Rev. Benedict Mar Gregorious, the Late Metropolitan Archbishop of Trivandrum. It is a co-educational, English medium day school affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi and offers classes from LKG to class XII.

The school campus hosts spacious well-ventilated classrooms, a library stocked with 20,000 books, science and computer labs and play area. The school also offers transport facility for the students.
The school prepares students for Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) examination conducted at the end of class X and the Indian School Certificate (ISC) examination conducted t the end of class XII. The school is also affiliated with the Kerala State Board to offer the SSLC course from class VIII and the Higher Secondary course at the senior secondary level.
The medium of instruction is English; Malayalam and Hindi are compulsory languages for class II to VII. From class VIII to X, Hindi or Malayalam is to be chosen along with English.
Extracurricular: Students are encouraged to participate in various co-curricular activities such as dance, drama, quiz, art and music. The school also promotes sports such as cricket, football, badminton and basketball.

Application forms and prospectus are issued by the school office in November. The minimum age for admission to LKG class is 3.5 years on the June 1 of the year of admission. Admissions to other classes are strictly restricted to the number of vacancies arising in each class every year.
