In a troubling development, a 39-year-old janitor from Lower Parel has been apprehended by authorities for his alleged involvement in the repeated sexual assault of an 8-year-old girl at a school in Santacruz. The distressing incidents, spanning the last three months, were brought to light when the victim, who faces mobility challenges, bravely disclosed the assaults to her family, prompting immediate medical intervention.
According to police reports, the accused utilized intimidation tactics to silence the child, carrying out the assaults in a storage room beneath a staircase within the school premises between December and earlier this month. Authorities are now investigating the possibility that the janitor, employed at the school for several years, may have targeted other vulnerable children.
