Overview

SIBM is a constituent institution of the Pune-based Symbiosis Group which comprises 35 institutions with 27,000 enrolled students. It was promoted in 1978 as the first postgraduate institute of business management studies in Maharashtra’s second (after Mumbai) most industrial city of Pune. In all national surveys of India’s most respected B-schools, SIBM is routinely ranked among the Top 25 countrywide. For instance in the latest Business Today-Nielsen survey of India’s 60 most respected B-schools (BT, October 3, 2010) SIBM is ranked 13. Likewise in the 2010 Business World survey, it is ranked 24 (BW, June 28, 2010).

Campus

SIBM, Pune, boasts of state-of-the-art infrastructure for its students. The SIBM’s library is splendid reference and lending library with over 18,000 books, reports, journals, periodicals, CD’s and video cassettes. The computer labs are equipped with 120 computers connected broadband connectivity of the internet and intranet with exclusive lease lines. The Wi-Fi campus enables students to get on-line anywhere on the campus without the hassle of wires and plug-ins. The lecture classrooms are well-ventilated and equipped with latest audio-visual facilities. The in-house facilities include 6000-seater modern auditorium and a modern conference hall located at Vishwa Bhavan. An all day cafeteria ensures refreshments for busy minds. The Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS) is an in-house Health Care Centre exclusive to the staff and students of the various institutes of Symbiosis. SIHS has team of specialist doctors who conducts the annual health check up. At SIBM Pune it’s not all work. A state of art gym, yoga and aerobics facilities provide interesting outlets for SIBM Pune students to unwind.

Admission

Residential MBA programme: eligibility – Graduated from any statutory university with minimum of 50% marks (45% SC/ST) at graduation level. Student appearing for final examination can apply but their admission will be subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) at qualifying examinations. Fee: Academic Fees: Rs. 3, 90,000, Pre-Induction Fees: Rs. 30, 000 (non-refundable, 1st year only), Hostel fees: Rs. 60,000, Mess: Rs.35, 000 and Hostel Deposit: Rs. 10,000 (refundable first year only). 1st installment first year Rs. 3,75, 000 and 2nd installment first year Rs. 1,50, 000. MBA (Executive Education): eligibility – to apply for this programme a student must possess Bachelor’s Degree of any Statutory University or any other Foreign recognized Foreign University with Three years’ work experience after graduation as on May 31st 2012. Accommodation

SIBM Pune assists in securing accommodation for outstation students. The facilities are available in close proximity to the campus and students are charged a nominal fee. The Foreign Students’ Cell, in turn, assists foreign students in all their accommodation requirements.
