Teen entrepreneur Avantika Kampani creates innovative learning tools

December 4, 2023

Two years ago, amidst the challenges of offline schooling during the lockdown, Avantika Kampani, a 16-year-old student from Mumbai, founded Day One Learning Solutions. This startup focuses on crafting innovative learning tools for children to boost cognitive abilities while fostering parent-child bonding. Avantika introduced a card game that introduces emotions to kids, aiming to revolutionize children’s self-growth and development through enjoyable learning experiences.

Driven by a long-standing interest in psychology and a realization that early childhood is crucial for learning, Avantika developed Seekh. This product comprises learning flashcards designed to stimulate holistic growth in children aged 0-4. Each of the six sections targets different areas of a child’s brain, enhancing cognitive capabilities. Avantika transformed the concept into a product after discussing it in her Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA) class.

Her subsequent venture, Check In, emerged at the end of the previous year. Inspired by her personal experiences with emotional learning, this card game facilitates discussions about feelings for both kids and adults. Available in English and Marathi, the game adopts a three-pronged approach to emotional understanding, encouraging players to identify, name, and find ways to engage with their feelings.

Check In holds significance for Avantika as it promotes not only personal emotional awareness but also healthier lifestyles and improved connections with others. Currently a student at Dhirubhai Ambani International School, she plans to introduce more products under her company, Day One, aiming to enhance child and infant development.
