UCD, VIT sign MoU for enhanced cross-border collaboration and global academic partnership

UCD and VIT have signed an MoU to establish a collaborative partnership, aiming to foster cross-border academic initiatives. Under the agreement, VIT students will have the opportunity to study at UCD in various fields like Engineering, Architecture, and Business. The MoU supports international transfer programs, allowing VIT students to join UCD after two years of their bachelor’s program. The collaboration emphasizes enhancing student experiences and faculty engagement across different domains.

Professor Colin Scott, UCD’s Vice President for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, stated that the MoU would enable cooperation in student and staff exchanges and partnership opportunities in diverse disciplines. This partnership is expected to facilitate global learning and research opportunities, emphasizing Ireland’s internationalized curriculum and collaborative research prospects.

Dr. R. Seenivasan, Director of the International Relations Office at VIT University, highlighted the partnership’s commitment to global education and research excellence. He expressed enthusiasm for the transformative impact that this alliance is expected to bring.

The MoU signifies a significant step in the relationship between India and Ireland. It is projected to yield joint initiatives, knowledge exchange, and academic research collaborations. Education in Ireland anticipates further collaborations between Irish Higher Education Institutes and Indian universities.
