Heart to Heart

Dear Parent, Parenting 24×7 is a full-time demanding job. While we manage the myriad chores while getting through the day, there are several casualties like our health, sleep and marriage, which could easily take the back seat. Therefore it’s time to step back from the roles of SuperMom or SuperDad and work towards a better life-parenting balance. While most parents don’t hesitate to discharge the routine tasks of parenting, we do tend to pay less attention to our own health and many parents are chronically sleep deprived. Remaining healthy and energetic needs to be higher on our priority lists to enable us to become good parents. A review of our health needs will prove helpful in finding solutions. An easy way to improve the health quotient is to follow the healthy habits we try to instil in our children’s lives. A glass of milk twice a day, fruits, carrot sticks and nuts, and other healthy things that we offer our children, can pep us up as well. Taking time out from the kids to spend time together as a couple, or adopting a hobby can also be refreshing for a full-time parent. When you take care of yourself, you will become the best person you can be, and the best parent you can be as well. Facebook Twitter LinkedIn WhatsApp
