In the span of the last three days, law enforcement in Uttar Pradesh has taken decisive action against individuals involved in or planning to engage in unfair practices during the police constable recruitment exam. A total of 244 people have been arrested or detained from February 15 to 6 pm on February 18, as revealed in a statement issued by the state police headquarters. The recruitment examination itself occurred on February 17 and 18.

Both district police and units of the Special Task Force (STF), assisted by local intelligence, played a role in apprehending these individuals. The authorities have initiated interrogations after filing FIRs against the accused. Emphasizing a commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination process, Prashant Kumar, the Chief of Uttar Pradesh Police, asserted that stringent actions would be taken against both individuals and groups involved in employing unfair means during exams.

Kumar highlighted that a significant number of arrests were made proactively, preventing the execution of nefarious plans aimed at disrupting the sanctity of the examination through unfair practices. The ongoing investigations seek to uncover and address any instances of malpractice, reinforcing the authorities’ determination to ensure a fair and transparent recruitment process.
