A video circulating on social media has drawn attention to an incident where textbooks intended for free distribution among government school students were being loaded onto a scrap dealer’s truck in Pallia town. This footage prompted officials to initiate an investigation on Wednesday.
The Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA), Pravin Kumar Tiwari, informed PTI that a comprehensive inquiry will be conducted by a four-member team to ascertain how the scrap dealer obtained these books.
The video, which emerged on social media on Tuesday, depicted a scrap dealer’s truck in Pallia town carrying a bundle of free textbooks that were purportedly designated for distribution among government school students.
Tiwari mentioned that the investigation team, comprised of the block education officer (BEO) of the district headquarters Bhagwant Rao, BEO Lakhimpur Subhash Chandra, BEO Dhaurahra Ashish Kumar Pandey, and district coordinator Pushpendra Srivastava, will furnish their findings within 10 days.
Subsequent actions will be determined based on the findings of the inquiry team, he added.
