The headmaster of a primary school in a quiet locality here now faces serious allegations of misconduct, with police confirming on Saturday that he has been booked for allegedly molesting female teachers. The incident unfolded during a tumultuous protest staged by teachers of the government school located in Krishna Nagar Colony, under the jurisdiction of the Bilaspur Kotwali police station. The teachers, emboldened by their collective voice, accused the headmaster of not just molestation but also of subjecting them to severe mental harassment. The protest gained momentum as it drew support from the families of some of the affected female teachers.
In response to the distressing complaints, the Bilaspur police station initiated legal proceedings against the headmaster, citing Sections 354 and 323 of the Indian Penal Code. The accusations detail a distressing narrative of long-standing misconduct, alleging that the headmaster, identified as Hariram Diwakar, had been systematically molesting several female teachers and inflicting mental anguish upon them. Matters escalated when the victims dared to oppose his advances, facing verbal abuse and intimidation in return.
This troubling situation has not escaped the attention of the Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) of the district, Sanjeev Kumar, who has pledged to address the matter with utmost seriousness. Assistant teachers from the Krishna Nagar area in Bilaspur have come forward with their accounts of indecent behavior, prompting swift action from the authorities. An FIR has been officially registered, signaling the commencement of a thorough investigation. Furthermore, efforts are underway to establish a committee tasked with conducting a preliminary probe into the allegations at the departmental level, ensuring a comprehensive and impartial examination of the distressing claims.
