Why students should learn no-code

Technology is influencing our lives more than ever, and it will continue to do so, especially in the prevailing times. As we can already see, technology is making things much faster and less complex, thereby improving the pace of work. Resultantly, businesses have also become more technology-oriented to simplify their work and achieve results strategically. This also means that companies prefer hiring people who can work effortlessly with technology to make their work livelier and autotelic. In this regard, no-code or low-code platforms are already playing a vital role, and students aspiring to land good jobs cannot ignore paying attention to these platforms.

What are no-code platforms?

No-code platforms are instantly emerging as the best and possibly more effective means to develop digital assets such as mobile app, websites, emailers, invitations, business cards, social media designs, and many other basic elements of today’s business. Their popularity is invading industries and educational institutions across the globe for the following reasons:

  1. Anyone can build an app

Once subscribed to such a platform, companies or individuals can “create” any tech product without involving the IT division! Here the power shifts to the creator or the citizen developer who has come up with the original idea and is ready to experiment/explore it within the stipulated budget. No-code platforms enable anyone to build apps/websites and other things without knowing the coding language.

  1. Dabble without burning a hole in your pocket

It is pretty common to find students as young as 12 years claiming to build an app or a website. It is indeed commendable. But now, even if you do not have any technical knowledge, you can still build an app or a website using no-code platforms. For students with a creative bent of mind and zeal to change the things around them, no-code platforms offer a wonderful opportunity to build useful tech products. Also, no-code technology challenges students and tests their problem-solving skills by letting them create practical solutions for real-world problems.

  1. App building is fun with no-code

It is okay to be scared of the things we don’t understand (coding), but it is not okay to miss out on great opportunities if we have access to less-scary means – no-code platforms. The knowledge of coding language doesn’t guarantee a smooth app development experience, but that’s not the case with no-code platforms. These platforms offer drag-and-drop features to the users, who can simply select and place the required features within the app and go on to make an app without any hassle or delays. Hence, no-code platforms make development more fun and interactive process.

  1. Empowerment of the business user

When it comes to building a new app, the power is often transferred to the process of execution. Many individuals and business owners fight this battle and feel powerless due to the lack of technical knowledge. More often than not, IT wins and chooses its own course to build the app in the pursuit of achieving perfection. However, with access to no-code platforms, business owners and students can empower themselves as they take complete ownership of the idea and its execution.

No-code makes you future-ready

Given the immense opportunity and potential, no-code platforms are the future. Therefore, familiarizing oneself with such platforms can help students become future-ready. What’s more? We know that more students today aspire to do “something of their own”, and no-code platforms can give them a great start. Even if your dream is to work with a company, remember, no-code platforms can make you an empowered employee. Therefore, more educational institutes must find ways to introduce no-code platforms to their students, as they do with other technology platforms necessary for students to kick-start their careers.
