The preparation for NEET, India’s common medical entrance test is not everyone’s cup of tea. It requires a great deal of dedication, hard work, and proper coaching. Medical coaching is essential to pass the NEET exam and secure admission to a medical college. Not all students can afford expensive medical coaching and this can limit their preparation for the examination. The NEET examination is not an easy one to pass and the situation induced by the Covid pandemic that affected many families terribly makes the situation even more difficult. Keeping this in mind, both the central and state governments have come up with free coaching assistance to help these students.
Keeping this in mind, several state governments have come up with free coaching facilities under various schemes for meritorious students. The Delhi government has launched the Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana to train 15000 students for various competitive exams including NEET. This includes free coaching as well as a stipend of Rs 2500 per month. UP and Haryana governments are providing free coaching for NEET aspirants.
The NTA website offers free coaching material including free lectures and videos by renowned professors. Students can also access the mock test series available on these websites. NTA has also launched a UI mock test app and NTA NEET Abhyas for practice tests.
This should improve the preparation levels of several students and help them to perform better in NEET 2022. Meritorious students will definitely make use of these free coaching facilities to sharpen their concepts and get better test practice.
The quality of the competition should improve if students make the best use of the free coaching facilities available. Considering the degree of difficulty of the NEET examination, aspirants will need to make use of all the coaching facilities available to perform well at the exam.
Private coaching centres are using new-age technology to provide online coaching along with offline coaching facilities. They use mobile apps to provide 24/7 access to coaching material, lectures by faculty members, mock tests, query resolution etc. This helps students to study at their own pace.
NEET 2022 will reflect the quality of these free coaching centres which would be contributing to the preparation of thousands of candidates and provide them with a level playing field. Raising the level of preparation for competitive exams like NEET is a much-needed effort from central and state governments. These facilities should be continued in future as well to provide coaching access to meritorious students and raise the level of competition. It is in the national interest that meritorious students find support in the form of free coaching to realise their potential. After all, these students will enter the medical profession and strengthen the healthcare system of the country.
