Founded in 1968 by Mrs. Dorothy Menezes and Late Alexander Menezes, Carmel High School, located in Basaveshwaranagar, Bengaluru is an English medium coeducational day school. The school is a part of Carmel Education Society and is affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi and Karnataka State Secondary Education Board (KSSEB).

The school’s prime motto is “faith and toil” and aims at providing comprehensive high quality education with a balanced curriculum that focuses on holistic development of the child.

Campus

Carmel High School, Bengaluru hosts spacious well lit classrooms with smart class facilities, a well-stocked library featuring a wide range of books, subscriptions to various magazines and internet facility, a multi-purpose hall, an audio visual room, a cafeteria providing healthy and hygienic food and separate well equipped laboratories with modern equipment for computers, science, English and mathematics. At primary and middle school level, students are assessed through Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE). At primary level, subjects offered include English, Mathematics, General Science and Social Science. At middle school, the teaching learning process is more technology based and subjects offered include history and civics, geography, English, Hindi/Kannada and Computer Science. The secondary level curriculum is as per the ICSE syllabus. At the higher secondary level (Pre University College), the school offers Science and Commerce streams.

Facilities such as school cinema, spark academy, abacus, yardstick, music/ band are provided by the school as a part of the co-curricular activities with an aim to enhance a child’s cognitive skills.

Admission

Admission is on first-cum-first-served basis and ag e criteria.

The age criteria for admission are:

Pre Nursery: 3 years on or by May 31st

Kindergarten: 4 years on or by May 31s

Class I: 6 years on or by May 31st

Pre application forms are to be submitted along with a copy of birth certificate.

For Class VIII

In class VIII, students are offered a choice of boards (CISCE, New Delhi or KSSEB, Govt. of Karnataka).
