Officials from the Delhi Fire Services reported a distressing incident on Sunday when six buses parked at a private school in Delhi’s Dwarka area suddenly caught fire. The situation quickly escalated as the blaze, originating in two buses, rapidly spread to four additional buses and even reached two rooms on the ground floor of the school building.
The alarm was raised at 2:53 pm, prompting a swift response from emergency services. Eight fire tenders were deployed to combat the flames, but the cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage. While efforts to ascertain the cause continue, operations are ongoing to contain and extinguish the blaze.
By 4:35 pm, firefighters managed to quell the flames that had engulfed the buses and penetrated the school premises. However, cooling operations are still underway to ensure that any lingering hot spots are completely extinguished. Concurrently, authorities have notified the police to initiate an investigation into the root cause of the fire, ensuring a thorough examination of the incident.
