Greenwood High students clinch a perfect 45 in IBDP exam 2019

July 2, 2019

Anjali Gurajapu and Tridib Bhattacharya, students of Greenwood High International School, Bangalore have secured the perfect score of 45 in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) exam held in May 2019. An IBDP student achieves a perfect score if he/she scores 7, the highest grade, in all six academic subjects and 3 points for Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge. Anjali plans to enroll at University of California-Berkeley to study Chemical Engineering while Tridib will be enrolling either at George Washington University or the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London to study International Relations and Economics.

While the school has always been consistent in producing outstanding academic records in IB Diploma Programme every year, adding a feather to its cap is the fact that this year, out of 93 candidates who have appeared in the exam, 21 students achieved between 40 and 45. 31 students achieved between 35 and 39.  A score of 40 and above is considered excellent. A score of 35 and above is very good.

Tridib-BhattacharyaCommenting on his achievement, Tridib said, “I am especially happy that I have achieved this score as a humanities student. Looking back, I think the most important thing was the consistent effort I put in over two years, even if I didn’t study as much before the final exams. The support of my teachers was crucial, particularly in the research-oriented aspects of the program, which I enjoyed most. I also think the fact that I didn’t neglect my interests outside academics played a key role in keeping my mind refreshed.”

Comments Niru Agarwal, trustee, Greenwood High International School, “Our students have yet again carried forward the legacy of the institution by performing wonders in their boards and making us immensely proud. The effort and dedication put in by our students and teachers have indeed paid off. I extend my hearty congratulations to all of them and wish them success for their future endeavors.”
