Karnataka: UGNEET and CET admission process to commence

The first round of seat allotment for professional courses including engineering, medical, and dental courses has been completed and the process of getting admitted to the colleges by paying the fee will begin on August 18 according to the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).

S Ramya, ED, KEA said in an official communication on Thursday that the candidates should make their choice after 1 pm on Friday and this will be allowed till 11.59 pm on August 20. Such candidates should pay the fee online as per their choices from August 19 to August 22, according to the release.

Only those who have selected “Choice 1” must pay the fee and download the admission letter.

In case any candidate does not like the college in which he/she has got the seat and wishes to try for some other college then he/she should enter “Choice 2” and pay the fee.

Such candidates can get admitted after the announcement of the second round of seat allotment.

August 23 is the last date for those who have entered “Choice 1” to get admitted to the colleges by providing their valid documents.

Two rounds only

Post the second round of seat allotment for medical and dental courses, there will be no opportunity for candidates to make further choices.

Medical

Ramya said that a total of 917 seats have been left after the first round of seat allotment for the medical course. Out of the total, 706 seats belong to the NRI quota and 206 belong to the quota for the specially abled.

Stages

 Stage 1- Option Entry link needs to be selected on the KEA website and login details need to be registered. Then, “Choices” should be entered.

Stage 2- All four Choices should be read to get them thoroughly understood. The consequences of the “Choice” should be considered.

Stage 3- Suitable “Choice” should be made and a printout needs to be taken.

Stage 4- Accordingly, action is to be taken as per the “Choice” selected.
