Meru International School hosted its second Annual Inter School cultural fest Merutsav, from August 9-18, 2021. Started in 2020, Merutsav was conceptualized and designed in the wake of Covid-19, to create a unique digital platform for the school children from top 20 schools in Hyderabad to showcase their talents in the diverse range of competitions. Despite the crisis like pandemic situation, Merustav with additional strive has been successfully organized in virtual mode. The closing ceremony of Merutsav was graced with the presence of chief guests Sunit Gajbhiye, CBO, Financepeer and Naveesh Reddy, COO, Financepeer on August 28, 2021.
According to the school’s press release, the interschool competition covered multiple aspects of learning that challenges the participants on intellectual and emotional levels. This platform for students helped them explore the true potential rather not just for themselves, but remarkably for the society too.
Meru International School organized around 86 events for six different segments from IK3 to Grade 11 students, grouped under 10 different categories ranging from Art and music to sports and tech. The events at the cultural fest include: Mystic Yogis’, Fitness freaks, Taekwondo Poomsae championship, Extempore, Recitation – English, Beats & Tunes, Speech (Telugu), Coding and HTML, Science Pictionary, Student Reporter, Rock with Prop, Math Wizard, and Amazing Inventions among others.
The second edition of Merutsav was also a landmark as it saw the maximum registrations overall, with over 2000 students participating in the 10-day festival. This includes students from the top 20 schools namely Meru International School, Glendale Academy International, Hindu Public School, Sancta Maria International School, Oakridge International School, Chirec International School, Kairos Global School, Delhi Public School, Meridian World School, Indus International School, Phoenix Greens School among others.
A total of 258 individual awards were awarded to students for the 86 events under three different prize categories like gold, silver and bronze. The top three winner schools were Meru International School (1st place), Delhi Public School (2nd place), and Phoenix Greens School (3rd place).
