NEET-PG 2024 exam rescheduled to July 7

January 10, 2024

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET-PG) examination, initially scheduled for March 3, 2024, has been rescheduled to July 7, according to an announcement by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) on Tuesday. The decision to reschedule comes in response to a letter from the National Medical Commission (NMC) dated January 3, 2024, and supersedes a previous NBEMS notice from November 9, 2023.

The eligibility cut-off date for this year’s NEET-PG examination is August 15, as per the latest notification. The NEET-PG examination serves as a crucial eligibility-cum-ranking assessment for admissions to various MD/MS and PG diploma courses under the National Medical Commission Act, 2019.

The rescheduling of the NEET-PG 2024 examination aligns with the guidelines outlined in the recently introduced “Post-Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023.” According to these regulations, the existing NEET-PG examination will continue until the proposed National Exit Test (NExT) becomes operational for the purpose of postgraduate admission.

Candidates preparing for the NEET-PG 2024 should take note of the revised examination date of July 7, 2024. The NBEMS emphasizes that this change is a result of careful consideration and alignment with the evolving landscape of medical education regulations.
