Amid severe cold weather conditions in Noida and Greater Noida, the Gautam Buddh Nagar administration issued an order on Tuesday, stating that all schools for students up to Class 8 should remain closed until January 6. The directive primarily targets certain private schools that are still conducting classes, while all government schools are currently observing a winter break until January 14.
The administration has further specified that classes for students in grades 9-12 should take place between 10 am and 3 pm only.
The District Basic Education Officer, Rahul Panwar, emphasized in the order, “In compliance with the instructions given in the public interest by District Magistrate Gautam Buddh Nagar Maneesh Kumar Verma due to severe cold and dense fog, there will be a holiday until January 6 in the schools (from class nursery to 8) recognized by all boards. The order should be strictly followed.”
Panwar clarified that government schools would resume classes on January 15.
Additionally, in a separate order, the District Inspector of Schools, Dharmveer Singh, stated that due to dense fog and extreme cold, classes for students from class 9 to class 12 will be conducted from 10 am to 3 pm in all schools, with strict compliance expected.
