A 10th-grade student from the Dalit community at Jawahar Navodaya School was discovered hanging within his classroom in the Pragpura region of Rajasthan’s Kotputli-Behror district, as confirmed by the police on Friday.
The incident transpired on Wednesday, and as of now, the boy’s family has declined to take possession of his body. They have initiated a protest, demanding the apprehension of two teachers whom they hold responsible for the alleged murder of the boy, subsequently attempting to stage it as a suicide.
Ranjeeta Sharma, the Superintendent of Police for Kotputli-Behror, stated that the family has accused the two teachers of subjecting the boy to harassment.
“The autopsy procedure has been postponed due to the family’s ongoing protest. We are actively working to resolve the situation,” she remarked.
In response to the incident, a First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against the implicated teachers under various sections, including Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which pertains to murder. Presently, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
