Bond University, Queensland Establishes Key Partnership with UPES

Bond University, a leading Queensland-based institute has signed an MoU with  University of Petroleum and Energy  Studies (UPES) Dehradun, a UGC recognized private university to enable students enrolled in UPES’  undergraduate program to transfer credits and pursue their undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at Bond University.

Under the joint venture , UPES students who have completed two years of study will get the opportunity to finish their academic career at Bond University in two more years and earn a degree from the institution.

The MoU was facilitated by Trade & Investment Queensland, as part of their commitment to strengthen educational ties between Queensland and India, a press note issued here said.

Abhinav Bhatia, Senior Trade & Investment Commissioner-South Asia at Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ), expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, saying, “TIQ is thrilled to witness the solidification of a transformative partnership between Bond University and UPES. This alliance mirrors the strength and durability of the bond that Australia and India share, fortified by the recently signed Australia-India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement. TIQ is committed to foster environments that bring together globally recognised institutions like Bond University and UPES, acting as a beacon for future collaborative endeavours in academia and beyond.”

Makarand Parulkar, Faculty Business Director – Bond University commented, ” Through student articulation programs, research collaborations, and mutual visits, we aim to enrich the educational experiences of both students abd faculty .”

Etablished under the UPES Act, 2003, UPES is a member of the Association of Indian Universities and is acclaimed  for specialized programs in sectors such as energy, engineering, management, law, and design. Through the partnership, UPES students will gain access to Bond University’s extensive academic resources.

Dr Sheetal Khanka – Head Department of International Affairs, UPES said, “Students will have an enriching educational journey through international exposure and the unique opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of different cultures, broaden their perspectives, and develop a global mindset.The two universities will work towards creating valuable opportunities for students. ”

Established in 1989, Bond University is Australia’s first private, independent, not-for-profit university and is located in the heart of Australia’s Gold Coast.

Bond University is part of a program undertaken by Study Queensland, a government organisation dedicated to promoting Queensland as a premier study destination.Study Queensland is responsible for delivering the International Education and Training Strategy, which focuses on enhancing experiences.of 135,000 students from 160 countries.
