Overview

Established in 1995, the Delhi School of Communication (DSC) has acquired an enviable reputation as one of the finest communications and media training institutes in the national capital. Sited in south Delhi on a compact state-of-the-art campus, DSC offers a slew of specialised postgraduate courses in media management, communications and marketing . ` Promoted and managed by an academic council comprising industrialists, academics, communications industry professionals and researchers, DSC is an autonomous institute with a faculty of ten full-time professors drawn from a group of carefully selected media professionals. The school also has a substantive visiting faculty mainly from mainstream print and electronic media. DSC offers a two-year postgraduate diploma programme in communications (PGDPC) and a three-year graduate programme in communication and business management (GPCBM). Areas of specialisation include communications and general management, marketing, advertising and journalism. Each academic year comprises two semesters the autumn semester starting mid-July and winter semester beginning December. DSC graduates find employment in advertising, market research, print and electronic media, public relations, events management, print and television journalism, and the rapidly growing service industries. Campus

DSC offers students state-of-the-art classrooms equipped with power point projectors and television screens, a well-stocked library offering more than 500 titles, several CDs, assorted encyclopedias, 50 national and international magazines and a large collection of feature films from around the world. In addition, there is a computer lab, , an administrative department, an executive room, and a browsers room with a café.

Academics

The DSC has All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approval. It is UGC Recognised and Distance Education Council approved in its affiliation to Guru Jambheshwar University. Courses offered 2 year full time Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Communication along with The Masters in Mass Communication Short term courses in Advertising and Media, Public Relations & Event Management, Marketing and Sales Industry workshops on Business Communication, Corporate Reputation, Competitive Marketing, Brand Management and Rural Marketing.

Admission

The eligibility for undergraduate courses is 10+2 pass and for post graduate courses the eligibility is graduation. The admission to most of these courses is done through various entrance tests at different levels and for rest of the courses the admission is done by applying directly to the college. For selection at DSC students should either be a graduate or graduating in 2010. In order to apply for the course, students have to clear the CAT/MAT/ATMA test or our admission test, psychological test, and the personality interview. The admission test covers GK, English, Maths (10th class), Reasoning and General Aptitude (duration 2hrs). The psychological test is an objective-type paper. Our class size is small to ensure individual attention to all students. Fees: Approx INR Rs 3, 90, 000 for the entire course.
