Overview

The PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh was originally established as Mugalpura Engineering College at Lahore in 1921. In 1953, the college shifted to its present campus in Chandigarh with the new name Punjab Engineering College. In 2009, the college was upgraded to a deemed university under Section 3 of UGC Act and was re-christened as PEC University of Technology. Till 1962, the college comprised departments of civil, electrical and mechanical engineering. Thereafter it expanded to include new departments in the fields of aeronautical, electrical and electronics communication, metallurgical, production and computer science. PEC University’s training and placement cell regularly hosts technical talks and national seminars in order to execute industry-institute interaction. A host of reputed companies visit the college for campus recruitment.
